About 676
Scouts BSA Troop 676 was created in 1973, and we have been going strong for almost 50 years, with over 100 Eagle Scouts! We camp once per month, hike, and enjoy other backcountry adventures. We attend summer camp every year, and this year plan to also participate in a High Adventure camp. We actively learn specific skills in the Scouts BSA handbook including knot tying, fire starting, first aid and safety, survival skills, and many other career development skills by earning merit badges. It is important to us that we serve our community by engaging in a wide variety of service events and opportunities.
Our troop consists of a team of committed adult volunteers and engaged parents that are dedicated to helping our Scouts run their own troop using the patrol method. We assist with the planning of outings and will provide enough guidance to ensure the health and safety of all participants, but we leave most activity decisions, leadership opportunities, and problem-solving to the Scouts. We are chartered by Bozeman United Methodist Church and there are currently about 30 Scouts in the troop.
